Modern Lamps by Isamu Noguchi

Some of his most famous expressions of sculpture as a practical part of daily life, the Akari Lamps merge spirit and substance in light and form. Inferior copies of the lamps are widely available, but these genuine models, imprinted with the Noguchi signature and logo, are incomparable. Delicate yet strong, the lamps are handcrafted using washi paper made from the bark of the mulberry tree with higo bamboo ribbing, supported by a metal frame. These pieces lend any space the sense of serenity and “imperfect” beauty that Noguchi sought to bring to the common experience of living.
